Skin Treatments

Healthier Skin, Treated With Purpose

Dermaplaning, microneedling, chemical peels and deep cleansing facials, tailored to your skin type, concerns and desired result. Every treatment begins with a consultation, so your skin is treated according to what it actually needs — never a one-size-fits-all approach.

Sound Familiar?

Tired of Skin Treatments That…?

  • Use the same facial or protocol on every skin type, regardless of your actual concerns
  • Leave your skin unnecessarily irritated or without clear guidance on what to expect afterwards
  • Focus on relaxation without addressing what’s actually going on with your skin
  • Skip a proper consultation and go straight into treatment
  • Leave you unsure what was actually done to your skin, or why

Your skin treatment should be built around your skin type, your concerns and the result you want, from the technique used to the aftercare that follows. Because healthy skin isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Find Your Skin Treatment

The Result You’re Actually After

Skin That Feels as Good as It Looks

Treatments chosen for your skin, not just booked because they’re popular. Just visible, healthy results built around what your skin actually needs.

Visibly Healthier Skin

A smoother texture, brighter tone and fresher-looking complexion, with results that can build progressively through the right treatment plan.

A Treatment That Suits Your Skin

From dermaplaning to microneedling to a chemical peel, your treatment is chosen around your skin type and concerns, never a default facial applied to everyone.

Results That Build Over Time

Skin treatments work best as part of a plan. With the right treatment and aftercare, results continue to improve appointment to appointment.

Your Skin’s Health Comes First

Every treatment is carried out with the condition and sensitivity of your skin in mind, so results are never chased at the expense of your skin’s barrier or health.

What Makes the Difference

Great Skin Starts With the Right Approach

When a skin treatment doesn’t give you the result you hoped for, it usually comes down to a few key things.

Rushed Consultations

Without taking the time to assess your skin type, concerns and history, it’s difficult to choose a treatment that’s actually right for your skin.

One Facial, Every Skin Type

Booking whatever’s popular rather than what your skin actually needs can mean paying for a treatment that does little for your specific concerns.

Ignoring Your Skin’s Reaction

Sensitivity, previous treatments and skin conditions should all be considered before deciding how a treatment is carried out and how strong it should be.

Overlooking Aftercare

What happens after your appointment matters just as much as the treatment itself. The right aftercare protects your skin and helps your results last.

This is exactly why Kovara works differently: see the Kovara method.

The Kovara Method

Healthy skin begins with understanding your skin, its condition and what it needs. At Kovara, every treatment starts with your skin.

We don’t believe in booking the same facial for every client. Before recommending dermaplaning, microneedling, a chemical peel or a facial, we take the time to understand your skin type, concerns and history — then tailor your treatment around you.

01

Your Skin & Concerns

We assess your skin type, texture, tone and any specific concerns — from congestion to fine lines to uneven texture — to understand what your skin actually needs.

02

Your Skin History

We’ll discuss previous treatments, products, sensitivities and any medical or skincare considerations, so we can make informed choices for your treatment.

03

Your Desired Result

Whether you’re after a deep reset, a targeted concern addressed or an ongoing skin plan, we’ll tailor the treatment and technique to your goals.

The Options

Tailored to Your Skin

Every treatment is chosen with your skin, concerns and desired result in mind. Here’s how each option differs.

Deep Cleansing Facial

Best for: skin that feels congested, dull or in need of a reset

A thorough cleanse, exfoliation and extraction, paired with a mask and massage suited to your skin. Designed to help reduce congestion and leave your complexion feeling refreshed, balanced and visibly brighter.

Decongesting Skin Refresh

Dermaplaning

Best for: smoother, brighter and for removing vellus hair

A gentle blade is used to remove dead skin cells and fine vellus hair from the surface of the skin, leaving the skin feeling instantly smoother and helping skincare and makeup sit better afterwards.

Smoother texture No downtime

Microneedling

Best for: fine lines, uneven texture and the appearance of scarring

Fine, sterile needles create controlled micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating its natural repair process. Over a course of treatments, microneedling can help improve the appearance of skin texture, tone, fine lines and scarring for smoother, more refined-looking skin.

Skin rejuvenation Progressive results

Chemical Peel

Best for: acne, congestion, pigmentation, ageing and skin renewal

A targeted chemical peel selected specifically for your skin and concerns. Using professional exfoliating solutions, each peel is designed to encourage skin renewal and address concerns such as acne, congestion, pigmentation, uneven texture and visible signs of ageing.

Targeted treatment Skin renewal

Dermaplaning & Microneedling

Best for: uneven texture, fine lines, scarring and overall skin rejuvenation

A combined treatment that pairs the surface-smoothing benefits of dermaplaning with the skin-rejuvenating effects of microneedling. Dermaplaning removes surface dead skin cells and fine vellus hair before microneedling is performed to target concerns such as uneven texture, fine lines and the appearance of scarring.

Aftercare

Keep Your Skin Looking Its Best

A little aftercare goes a long way. How you care for your skin following your appointment can help support your results and allow your skin to recover comfortably.

General Skin Treatment Aftercare

  • Protect your skin with SPF

Apply a broad-spectrum SPF daily and avoid unnecessary direct sun exposure, sunbeds, saunas, and excessive sweating for 48 hours.

  • Keep your routine gentle

Give your skin time to settle. Avoid makeup, active ingredients such as retinols, AHA/BHA’s, and vitamin C until advised. Stick to gentle, hydrating skincare.

  • Avoid touching or picking

Some treatments may cause temporary dryness or flaking. Allow your skin to shed naturally and avoid picking, peeling or exfoliating the area.

  • Support your skin barrier

Keep your routine simple and use gentle, hydrating products to support your skin while it recovers.

  • Follow your individual aftercare

Aftercare varies depending on the treatment you’ve had. We’ll explain exactly what to use, what to avoid and when you can return to your normal routine before you leave.

What Should I Expect Afterwards?

Depending on your treatment, you may experience temporary redness, warmth, sensitivity, tightness, dryness or light flaking as your skin settles. This can vary from person to person and from treatment to treatment.

We’ll explain what to expect following your specific treatment and give you personalised aftercare before you leave.

Planning Your Next Treatment? Some skin concerns benefit from a course of treatments. Where appropriate, we’ll recommend a treatment plan and spacing based on your skin, its response and the results you’d like to achieve.

We’ll talk you through your individual aftercare before you leave, so you know exactly how to care for your skin at home.

FAQs

Skin Questions, Answered

Still deciding what to book? Here’s what clients ask most before a skin appointment.

You don’t need to know before you book. We’ll assess your skin, discuss your concerns and the results you’d like to achieve, then recommend the treatment, or combination of treatments, best suited to you.

Some skin treatments, such as chemical peels, require a patch test at least 48 hours beforehand. We’ll let you know at the time of booking if this applies to your treatment, and your safety will always come first.

Dermaplaning is a skin treatment that involves physically removing dead skin cells and fine vellus hair from the surface of the skin, leaving the skin smoother and brighter. Dermaplaning is non-invasive and comes with little downtime.

Chemical peels use professional exfoliating solutions selected to target specific concerns such as acne, congestion, pigmentation, texture or visible signs of ageing. Chemical peels encourage deep cell turnover, and can involve some visible peeling or flaking as your skin renews. We’ll recommend the option best suited to your skin and what you’re hoping to achieve.

Yes, when suitable for your skin. Dermaplaning can be performed before microneedling to remove superficial dead skin cells and fine vellus hair, creating a combined treatment that targets both surface smoothness and concerns such as texture, fine lines and the appearance of scarring.

Some downtime may be expected depending on the treatment and your individual skin response. Redness, sensitivity, tightness, dryness or flaking can occur as the skin heals. We’ll explain what to expect and provide individual aftercare following your treatment.

Arrive with clean skin where possible and avoid retinoids, exfoliating acids and other strong active ingredients for 7–10 days before your treatment. Please let us know about any skincare products or medications you’re using, as well as any recent skin treatments you’ve had.

Yes, some treatments can still be carried out during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Dermaplaning and Deep Cleansing Facials may be suitable, however Microneedling and Chemical Peels cannot be performed during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. We’ll always discuss this during your consultation and recommend the most suitable treatment for you.

Some treatments can give the skin a noticeable refresh after one appointment, while concerns such as scarring, texture, pigmentation or visible signs of ageing may benefit from a course. Your treatment plan will depend on your skin, concerns and how it responds.

Microneedling isn’t suitable over active, inflamed acne. If you’re experiencing active breakouts, we’ll assess your skin and may recommend another treatment or skin plan until the inflammation has settled.

You don’t need to choose your peel yourself. We offer different peel options for concerns including acne, congestion, pigmentation, exfoliation and visible signs of ageing. We’ll assess your skin and select the most appropriate option for you.

This depends on the treatment you’ve had. Some treatments require a period without makeup while the skin heals, and we’ll give you specific guidance before you leave.

This depends on your skin, your goals and the treatment you’re having. Some treatments can be enjoyed regularly for maintenance, while more intensive treatments such as microneedling and chemical peels need to be appropriately spaced, usually every 4–6 weeks. We’ll recommend a treatment plan and frequency that suits your skin during your consultation.

Possibly, but it depends on the product you’re using and the treatment you’re having. Retinoids, prescription acne treatments and other active skincare can make the skin more sensitive and may affect which treatments are suitable. Please let us know what you’re currently using before your appointment so we can advise you safely.
